The M-series consists of three steps that progress from thinner to thicker formulations to maximize absorption of product into the skin. The series is formulated to deliver a wide range of active ingredients in effective concentrations while being gentle on the skin. To preserve the best of the ingredients, we must consider three main factors:
Solubility (does it dissolve in oil or water?)
Heat sensitivity (will the integrity of the ingredient degrade with exposure to heat?)
Effective concentration (at what concentration has an ingredient been shown to be effective without being irritating/sensitizing?).
M1 Antioxidant Mist (water-soluble antioxidants, heat-sensitive) is COLD-PROCESSED. It contains water-soluble botanical extracts and antioxidants. It is a very hydrating, oil-free, non-exfoliating, and non-astringent product that is compatible with the “seven-skin method” and with use with electro-current devices (such as Foreo Bear, NuFACE).
M1 Antioxidant Mist contains botanical extracts that have antioxidant components, essentially a concentrated herbal decoction.
M2 Oil Serum (fat-soluble anti-oxidants, heat-sensitive) is also COLD-PROCESSED. This product contains lipid-soluble antioxidants, anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial and regenerative components of cold-pressed, virgin, seed oils that are sensitive to heat and light.
M2 Oil Serum contains cold-pressed, virgin organic, precious seed oils.
M3 Vitamin Cream (heat-stable butters, oils, fat and water soluble vitamins) is processed in several steps with heat-stable butters that must be melted to become useful. It also includes olive squalane and vitamins that bind-water, protect the skin barrier, have anti-inflammatory effects, and down-regulate pigmentation in the skin.
M3 Vitamin Cream contains aqueous, oils butters and a skin-loving vitamins.
If you’re looking for hydration and moisturization, you would only need one M3, or a pair of M1 & M2. However, the M-series as a whole is recommended if you’re looking for a full range of antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, brightening qualities afforded by a synergy of a wide variety of botanical ingredients.
Ingredients in skin care, as in sunscreens, are dose and frequency dependent. I have ensured a high-enough concentration of active ingredients to be effective, and low-enough not to be irritating. It is up to the end-user to ensure that it is used frequently and consistently enough to have cumulative effects.
How often is enough? At a bare minimum, use once every evening on thoroughly cleansed skin. Ideally, it should also be used under sunscreen to provide antioxidant effects and to protect the skin barrier against dehydration. It’s all about protecting the skin you’re in.
Protect the skin you’re in now. Don't regret not doing so later. You will end up with better skin via protection and prevention compared to subjecting yourself to invasive, and inflammation-inducing anti-aging procedures and products in the future.
