Product feature: C1 Cleansing Balm

C1 Cleansing Balm is a preservative-free, semi-solid product made with virgin organic, cold-pressed oils. It is formulated lavender and tangerine (relaxing and uplifting) essential oils in summer, lavender and patchouli (relaxing and grounding) in the winter.

Massage into dry skin to dissolve sebum, make-up and sunscreen. Add water and continue massaging into skin to form micro-foam. It rinses away without stripping the skin and without leaving residue.

It is packaged in a glass mason jar, that you can reuse to store spices, jams, even make candles?

Ingredient feature: Caffeine

Caffeine is an odourless, colourless by-product of coffee decaffeination. Although solid scientific evidence is lacking in the effects of this ingredient in skincare, caffeine is readily absorbed into the skin and is thought to increase microcirculation and accelerate the elimination of fluid from the tissues (de-puffs the skin). It is also thought to promote hair growth and reduce excessive hair loss by inhibiting the enzyme that converts testosterone into dihydrotestosterone, which is the main hormone responsible for the development of baldness.

Having tested this ingredient for six months, I am concerned this will affect sleep in some individuals like it did for me. I am fiercely protective of the quality of my sleep since it is a cornerstone of physical and mental and recovery, so it will be present in morning products only: C3AM (Morning Toner) for a morning boost, and in the H3 (Hair & Scalp Refreshing Spray) which should be used in the morning since the rosemary and peppermint oils are quite stimulating as well.

Wishing you wakeful days and restful evenings,

Cee

Triple clean + triple hydration and moisture = healthy skin

Each step in the Hyangii system has a reason and a place based on skin physiology. Although it may seem like a lot of steps, it has been pared it down to what I believe is required to slowly develop and maintain healthy skin:

C-STEPS. CLEANING ANALOGY

C1 (like dissolves like) Use fresh oil to remove old oil buildup. Have you ever tried using fresh oil to clean old grease off of your kitchen hood/cabinets? Try it sometime.

C2 (extra cleaning power). Use the power clay to gently exfoliate the top layer dead skin and bind excess oils and dirt in your pores before washing it away. It’s like using baking soda to clean grout and other hard to reach crevices.

C3 (back to balance). Bring your skin's acid mantle back to its proper pH. Using acid toner formulated Alpha & Beta Hydroxy Acids, also helps remove dead skin cells. Probiotics from apple cider vinegar and kombucha also bring the skin back to balance. I can't really think of a good cleaning analogy for this.

M-STEPS. FOOD ANALOGY

M1 (Facial Mist=Green juice). Hydrate with water and drink up your water soluble vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Like warm lemon water first thing in the morning hydrates and gears up the gut to absorb nutrients, hydration in skin aids in the absorption of the next steps of your skin care.

M2 (Facial serum=Fish, avocados, nuts). Nourish your skin's lipid barrier with healthy fats.

M3 (Face cream= Creamed soup). It’s made with heat and is a meal on its own. Both water soluble and fat soluble nutrients co-exist in this emulsion to seal in the goodness and to protect the skin, especially overnight.

Having these different formulations allow you to customize the "richness" of your moisturizers, thereby eliminating need for separate eye cream, neck cream, day cream, night cream. Use more M1 for thinner application around the eyes and more M2, M3 for thicker application on the neck.
