The case for ditching body lotion

Because body lotions are applied in large quantity, all-over the body and is left on (not washed off like soap), The best way to reduce your family’s exposure to artificial preservatives, colour and fragrance in body care products is to switch out your body lotion for a healthy, skin-loving cold-pressed oil.

Lotion is formulated like an emulsified salad dressing-think runny ranch or caesar dressing made with water instead of vinegar. You need to preserve that microbial buffet! Preservatives are used at a rate of 0.1-2% of the total weight of the formula. Lotions contain about 75% water and preservatives are needed just to inhibit microbial growth not in the oil component, but in all of that water as well.

Take advantage of the water left on your body after a shower and apply just a little bit of the oil to slightly wet skin (the same principle applies to your body as it does to your face, use M1+M2). You’ll also be nourishing your skin with fatty acids and vitamins that are present in minute amounts, if any at all, in drugstore body lotions.

Is this your first time?

Welcome!

A) If you're willing to DIY a little, I would suggest:
C1-diy version (secret skincare fb group)
C2-Drug store cleanser (CeraVe or Dove sensitive bar)
C3- diy version (secret skincare fb group-although it stinks extra bad)
C3 am-thayers brand.

M1 and M2 - consider purchasing these two, it's hard to get any of these ingredients from your local store.

M3-Use your existing fav moisturizing cream/night cream.

B) If you're not willing to DIY or you travel often, or you want to start with the Hyangii system from the start, I would suggest:
Travel kit (avg 6-8week supply)

C) If you're overwhelmed with the number of steps, here's my suggestion of which steps to add **after cleansing** starting with what I think is the most important:
1) M2 -serum
2) C1 (especially if you wear sunscreen or makeup) -oil cleanser
3) C3 - acid toner
4) M1 - mist
5) M3 - cream
6) C2.5-cleansing bar, grains/mask
Wow, that was harder to do than I thought. This order will be different if you never wear sunscreen or makeup, on how much you are willing to DIY or use your existing products, your skin condition etc.

Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have questions.
Thanks!!

W2019 Ingredient list & pricing report

First, the most important information: Ingredients. Ingredients are subject to change slightly based on market availability or at time for manufacture**

C1 I will be trying to improve the cleansing power of this but I can not guarantee an improved formulation at this time (This will be offered at $5-$10 less than W2018).

C2, C3 AM, Sunscreen are still store-bought products. Cleanser recommendation CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser.

C2.5 Cleansing grains containing seaweed will be offered again, but will include extra-scrubbly exfoliating and brightening power (This will be offered at $5 more compared to last year).

C3 AM. I did recommend the store-bought Thayer’s brand as at C3 AM, but personally I’d rather use my formula from W2018. This is NOT included in the FULL Kits but will be available for purchase since I will be making some for myself (This will for offered for the first time for purchase, $30 for 240ml).

C3 PM is a 2x chemical exfoliation toner, with kombucha added to the mix. It will contain double the acids, but the volume will stay the same. This can be diluted with C3AM for daily acid toner or use 2x strength as an extra-potent exfoliation treatment (This double strength formula will be offered at last year’s price, but will be double the strength).

M1 will include methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) in addition to the other 11 other active ingredients, this makes 12 active ingredients total! (This will be offered at the W2018 price. I regret that I am not able to offer it at S2108 price again).

M2 will be the same as last year’s winter formula with an addition of olive-derived squalene (one refined ingredient that is worth including for its benefits) and more rosehip seed oil (M2-S will be offered at last year’s prices, M2 will be $5 more).

M3 rosehip oil will be replaced by olive squalene as it is more resistant being heated in a cream formulation. Otherwise, the rest of the ingredients will remain unchanged from last year’s winter formula (M3-S will be offered at last year’s prices, M3 will be $5 more).

Full-sized kits will be priced given a 10% discount compared to buying all items a la carte. It will EXCLUDE C3 AM.

Travel kits (sensitive) are $5 more, Regular is $8 more compared to S2018.

Hyangii Scalp & Hair serum prices will remain the same.

I have been working on improving what is probably my first formula, ever, a Scalp and Hair Kombucha, ACV and seaweed rinse. Although I have been hesitant to release this product due to concerns that this may run into the eyes, my kids have been using this without incident and the demand for this has been constant and continuous for about three years now. I hope this will be ready between December or February with an instruction video.

Hyangii Body, and SPA series will not be available at this time. I will be aiming to have this available between December and February.

How does summer skin care differ from winter care?

During the summer, we need to keep skin *hydrated* with water-based products that contain humectants which draw and keep moisture in the skin.  The summer sun and time outdoors can dehydrate our skin causing it to produce more oil.

C1 with sun-safe distilled lemon smells like coconuts and sunshine! Coconuts and their derivatives are only used in wash-off products.

C2, C3 AM, Sunscreen are still store-bought products.

C3 PM is a 2x chemical exfoliation toner, with kombucha added to the mix. It will contain double the acids, but the volume will stay the same. This can be diluted with C3AM for daily acid toner or use 2x strength as an extra-potent exfoliation treatment.

The summer sun and time outdoors can dehydrate the skin causing it to produce more oil. I find that  << C3 AM + multiple layers of M1 + sunscreen >> is often enough to keep my skin hydrated and moisturized all day during th hottest days of summer, so I'll be increasing the volume of M1 from 100mL to 240mL.

M2 and M3 are optional during the day when it's super hot and humid, but non-negotiable at night. I still like my skin to get the protection and nourishment it needs so it can regenerate during sleep.
